Try them in safe mode and see what happens.

Try an online virus scan:
"Online Antivirus scanners:

http://www.kaspersky.com/remoteviruschk.html
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
http://www.pcpitstop.com/antivirus/default.asp

Try these free Adware finders:
Download,install,update and run:

AdAware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Spybot Search & Destroy
http://security.kolla.de/

Spyware Blaster
http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

If they don't help, try Scandisk in Dos and Defrag in SafeMode.

Default Having system problems

I have the same problems, when trying to start the Scan Disk it starts
up and goes for a little while, suddenly it start on from the beginning
again. And it does so for about 50 times until finished (takes from 6 to
10 hours).
Then, same problem with Defrag.

The hard disk is full to 50%. Shouldn't be any problem.

I found out that if I start up the computer in SAFE mode then ScanDisk
and Defrag works almost perfect. Try.

Sometimes it hangs and I have to reboot, but not too often (yet).

I have though an other problem that drives me bananas. May be you our
someone could help me out.

When marking text with the mouse, it seems that the text doesn't "glue".
I have to try up to 10 times until the text really is marked. The colour
that says the text is marked, 'loosens', and get unmarked even though it
should have been marked.

I have a feeling the computer is working so very much that there is no
memory enough to mark text.

Any ideas? Any suggestions? Anyone?
