Default Win 98SE on new Intel D101GGC

Hi Roman,

I was referring to specifically full Intel boards in my wondering in
response to the replies, however yours seems like a fine choice.

Thanks for your post though.

Thanks. I ran 98 on this same box (CPU, memory, drives, etc) with the
D915, it's a simple setup. I think it's either the "doesn't support"

It's good to know you got the 915 to work. What 9x version Chipset
Software Installation Utility did you use?

I'm pretty sure the 945 also works using the v6.3.0.1007 9x Chipset
drivers. I myself run 865's with it and have 3 of them.

OP's board is based on ATI Xpress 200 Chipset.

BTW, latest Intel chipset board that
I installed Windows 98 on was 875P based:

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ame= GA-8KNXP

But I recommend ULi based motheboards
for running Windows 98SE, for example:
http://www.asrock.com/product/product_939Dual-SATA2.htm
with ULi Integrated driver (supports USB 2.0, too):
http://www.au-ja.de/files-aliintegrated.phtml
- Audio M5455 WDM driver for Vista(tested on Vista beta Build 5320)
- LAN driver 3.51 for Vista(tested on Vista beta Build 5320)
- M5281 v 5.0.2.8 driver for NT4/98se/Me v 5.0.2.9 for
2000/XP/2003/x64/Vista(tested on Vista beta Build 5320)
- M5287 v 6.2.0.9 driver for
2000(WHQL)/2003/XP(WHQL)/x64(WHQL)/Vista(tested on Vista beta Build
5320)
- M5288 v 6.2.1.8 driver for
2000(WHQL)/2003(WHQL)/XP(WHQL)/x64(WHQL)/Vista(tested on Vista beta
Build 5320)
- M5289 v 5.0.3.0 driver for
NT4/98se/Me/2000(WHQL)/XP(WHQL)/2003/x64(WHQL)/Vista(tested on Vista
beta Build 5320)
- Update setup package to support Vista (tested on Vista beta Build 5320)

Regards, Roman

If it doesn't have the driver support as part of the motherboard CD, it
ain't gonna happen.
You also have to get past ndis.vxd, and any RAM installed over 512 MB for
applications.

Last one installed was 865PE series here. XP bought the farm. Vista is
taking notice of the farm for hardware changes. Rumor has 128MB video
memory minimum for Vista. Hardly PCs for the masses as previously
advertised by BG.
