Is this MS Me Support Response from an Imposter ?

Dear Sirs, I don't know if the following is a pretender or
a boni fide MS Support Response to my request for help - I
did not have to use the provided password to download the
hotfix. The support person had the following email
address:

Sounds reasonable to me other than for the Hotmail address, provided of course
that you did in fact contact Microsoft and ask for a hotfix such as that
refereed to in KB301540 (ifsmgr.vxd v4.90.3003) which is not publicly
available. Which hotfix did you ask for? What is the address of the download
site (I DO NOT want to know the password for the package).
