And Tampa Bay stomped Calgary, but even if I were wont to lord it over the
Western Canadians in my house (i.e., the entire remainder of the family), I
shan't. I dislike anything Floridian more than just about anything I can
think of, g.

Unfortunately, poor Smarty Jones pooped out well short of the finish line at
Belmont, and the Triple Crown trophy will continue to languish another year.

(What does one say to a cricket team or teams by way of congratulations,
anyway? And is that two teams against two? 'Splain, please?)

Jolly good show, old chap. Well played.

Never been there. Hilton Head Island was the closest I ever got.

Jockey error.

[Under your breath, however, well, I'll leave that to your imagination].

One team against one team. Two matches, back to back.
Total score wins. As in baseball, if the other team is "all out",
and your team is ahead on total scrore, the match is over, and you win.

So, New Zealand scored 386 all-out in their first set of innings
and 336 all-out in their second and final set, all-out,
for a total score of 722.

England then scored 441 in their first set of innings,
leaving them needing to score 282 in their second set of innings,
which they did with only 3 batsmen out, leaving them with
seven "wickets", or batsmen, still available to score runs.

While there are 10-a-side, you need one batsman at each end,
so you only really have 9 outs to play with (score runs with).

Thus, New Zealand got beat by seven wickets. Simple.

Thank you for your explanation, sir. And of course, you are probably correct
in all of your analyses, except that whether or not Calgary wuz robbed in
game six, they were definitely *stomped* in game seven, regardless of that
fantastic goal shot in the 3rd period.

Not so sure, either, that it was jockey error. That horse definitely has a
mind of his own and just wouldn't settle down in the back stretch. Wanted to
lead from the moment he left the gate. Perhaps the jockey could have done
more to rein him in, but we'll never know.

A set of 3 wooden stumps. Each set is 9 in/22.86cm wide,
and consists of three wooden stumps with two wooden bails on top.

Two sets of wickets are pitched opposite and parallel to each other
at a distance of 22 yards/20.12m between the centres of the 2 middle stumps.

British?
I can't see how American English has it's roots in
British English.
If the sport does not include an oblong object made out
of pigskin? I'm at a lose.
Besides...I'm still looking for the "any" key.
