Default resources error "invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll at 017f:bff7b9ab"

Computer running 98se with Office 2000 installed has
suddenly developed a 'low on resources' problem.

although Excel loads, Word will not load, and eventually
message appears saying system low on resources, close
programs etc..

the error message is as above:

invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll at 017f:bff7b9ab

but could not find this error message on microsoft site.

anybody know what it is?

any suggestions appreciated.

"What" caused an invalid oage fault in kernel32.dll?
Please provide the name of the app given at the beginning on the error.

I suggest you post your question in an MS Office group, as it is an Office problem.

Hi

Thanks for response - didn't write down exact first
meesage, but when trying to load Word 2000 it doesn't get
beyond showing opening graphic - then message about system
being dangerously low on resources and suggesting shut
down all unwanted programs - but this in only after
booting up, so only W98 is loaded.

Thanks - JW
