Default scanner connection

I recently purchased a used scanner and it came with 3
installation discs. I installed it and it seemed to load
to my computer hard drive , but when I try to open it from
the desktop icon I get this message --" THE SHELL 32.DLL
FILE islinked to missing export SHLWAPI.DLL:SH REG GET US
VAUE A " What does this mean and can anyone help me?
I am running windows 98 s.e. on microsoft internet
explorer version 6.0, the scanner is visioneer paperport
3100b.
I would appreciate any information.
Billyboy
