Oh,and yes ive already got the "Dumb-Ass of The Day" award for never having backed up my files since ive had it. If you have only that problem then get this free viewer for your pictures.
You can even edit the pictures and change from to any format you want. IrfanView A compact freeware program that supports many formats, may be the only graphics file viewer you need. http://www.irfanview.com/ -- Henri Leboeuf Web page: http://www.colba.net/~hlebo49/index.htm === "boog n bob" wrote in message ... IEXPLORE.EXE is the core Internet Explorer browser app. I doubt it's actually
gone. And, no, it is *not* supposed to be located at C:\programfiles\internetexplorer\iexplore.exe If that's what the error message says, that's the problem--the file association is screwed up. Look in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe (note the spaced in the path.) You should also use Folder Options, View tab to make sure you have the following:settings Show All Files--Enabled Hide extensions for known filetypes--Disabled If IEXPLORE is truly missing, the reinstall/upgrade Internet Explorer. If IE is working fine, you can do what Henri suggests, or try a couple of different patches from http://www.aumha.org/regfiles.htm involving image viewing/previewing, or from Ron Badour's or Doug Knox's sites (listed at the above linked site, bottom of the page.) Or try this: Select (but only use a single click) an image file (JPG, GIF...only a few will work in IE,) then Hold down the Shift key and right-click the file. Choose OpenWith. Select Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe) and make sure to check "Always use this application." (Still, Henri's solution is the smarter one, s.) -- Gary S.
