Default Reinstalling Win98SE

My son have a Win98SE machine was runnuig very
well until sometime.
I try to rvive it but found lot of errors and
crashes. It could load into safe mode but as soon as a key or a mouse is
touched it could
LOCKUP all Keyboard mouse and Cntrl+Alt+Delete and the result was to turn
it
off from switch.
I refomated the hd and try to install Win98
but the setup could go only up
"Copying Files" and got LOCKUP all again.
If during the this process i touch the keyboard
or move mouse around, it gets lockup.
I tried to setup win311 just to check it.
It was ok upto the Disk 5 when it ask you
to select a printer. When I touched the
keyboard it Lockedup all.

The scandisk found nothing even in surface
checking. It works a bit in Dos mode.
It can be started on the floppy disk or hd.

Is it a hd problem or else?

Any advice appreciated,

Before reinstalling, check that the mouse/keyboard are functioning. I
had a bad cable to the mouse caused all the symptoms you described.
The bad mouse cable caused the keyboard to stop functioning. Also,
did it whenever the cell phone would check in with the cell tower.
Seems the poor cable exacerbated the EMC problems.

I have felt kind of stupid recently, so I did not reply, but I
also thought the cable(s) or the mouse/kbd hardware PC interface
could have something to do with it.

"I agree completely with what Jean-Luc said in this week's Elle:
it's garbage. Cameron isn't evil, he's not an asshole like
Spielberg. He wants to be the new De Mille. Unfortunately, he
can't direct his way out of a paper bag. On top of which the
actress is awful, unwatchable, the most slovenly girl to appear
on the screen in a long, long time. That's why it's been such a
success with young girls, especially inhibited, slightly plump
American girls who see the film over and over as if they were on
a pilgrimage: they recognize themselves in her, and dream of
falling into the arms of the gorgeous Leonardo."

- Jacques Rivette, on "Titanic" (James Cameron, 1997)
