Trendnet wireless USB adapter installed on Win98SE, but winipcfg not seeing adapter
Hi there,
I just installed a Trendnet TEW-424UB wireless USB adapter on my Win98SE machine. I can use the Trendnet utility to see that the adapter is connecting to my Actiontec wireless router with great signal strength, but I can't connect to the internet at all. WINIPCFG doesn't list the adapter at all. IPCONFIG /ALL returns: Host Name: matt DNS Servers: Node Type: Broadcast NetBIOS Scope ID: IP Routing Enabled: No WINS Procy Enabled: No NetBIOS Resolution Uses DNS: No 0 Ethernet Adapter: Description: PPP Adapter. Physical Address: 44-45-53-54-00-00 DHCP Enabled: Yes IP Address: 0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0 Default Gateway: DHCP Server: 255.255.255.255 Primary WINS Server: Secondary WINS Server: Lease Obtained: Lease Expires: 1 Ethernet Adapter: Description: PPP Adapter. Physical Address: 44-45-53-54-00-01 DHCP Enabled: Yes IP Address: 0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0 Default Gateway: DHCP Server: 255.255.255.255 Primary WINS Server: Secondary WINS Server: Lease Obtained: Lease Expires: 0 Ethernet Adapter: Description: Microsoft TV/Video Connection Physical Address: 00-00-00-00-00-00 DHCP Enabled: No IP Address: 4.0.0.3 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255 Default Gateway: DHCP Server: Primary WINS Server: Secondary WINS Server: Lease Obtained: Lease Expires: As you can see, no mention of my Trendnet adapter. I can't ping anything either. Anyone know how I can get this thing connected? Thanks! |
