Why???
General can be a little daunting, a bit like XP General when that first
started, you know all the know it alls who know nothing giving advice even though they haven't a clue what they're talking about g -- Joan Archer http://www.freewebs.com/crossstitcher http://lachsoft.com/photogallery "Heather" wrote in message ... Are they worse than the XP ones?? Look out world......here comes "Har Har Harry", lol. Figgs "Joan Archer" wrote in message ... Will you be venturing into the Vista ng's then Harry ? -- Joan Archer http://www.freewebs.com/crossstitcher http://lachsoft.com/photogallery "webster72n" wrote in message ... Hope you've had a nice transition into the new year, Shane, even though the outlook isn't good at all. This german billionaire lost 4 of his 13 billion and killed himself, does that make sense? Where 'Vista' is concerned, it came with the PC and cost me virtually nothing. I've got everything working smoothly now and find the system 'enjoyable'. I wish you and everyone else here a wonderful New Year. Harry. "Arturo" wrote in message ... Notwithstanding that at your age you probably don't feel like waiting maybe another year, but if you've just got Vista, Harry, you might like to return it while you still can. I mean, they ought to give Vista owners a free upgrade to Windows 7 (Johnny's brother) when it comes out, but dollars to donuts you'll pay as much through the nose as economics allow at the time (end of the year, maybe). And give me donuts any day of the week. Spelt 'doughnuts'. Shane webster72n wrote: Surprise, surprise, I'm back in business and all with just a little 'System Restore', suggested by Dell Help/Support. Vista isn't so bad after all, even with dial-up, simply takes some 'getting used to'. My next step will be to explore 'Ubuntu', which runs fine on this machine. Harry. "Corday" wrote in message news Harry, Dialup and Vista make a strange combination. By the time your updates finishing updating, it's time for new updates. Don't worry though. When Microsoft discontinues support, there won't be any more waiting. -- I mastered Wordstar graphics! "webster72n" wrote: Am just getting aquainted with Vista, while still operating ME and to my surprise discovered that ME is faster than Vista. All in all there is an advantage in ME, because one no longer needs to spend time downloading all sorts of updates. Vista has improved features and an advanced look but with dial-up it is quite a bit slower than ME, despite dual core processing. And not everyone can afford to 'upgrade' time and time again either. In short: consider yourself fortunate. Harry. "Robb Pierce" wrote in message ... Why do people still use Windows ME? Just upgrade to XP already. |
