Windows did not boot after un-install of some spyware! :(

Hello,
Some one had installed spyware like Internet optimizer, IST Bar, Powerscan
on my system which is running win98SE.. so I removed them from Add/Remove
programs, all of a sudden all my desktop icons disabbled and none of the
shartcuts of porgrams is not working, and after restarting system, I could
not boot..

I had Norton Antivirus 2004 with full update and there was no threat of
virus.
now system boots upto User login and afterwords I get explorer error. If I
press Ctrl+Alt+Del there will not blank in program list

What I have 2 do now? I need to re-install? is there any solution for it??
plz help me

Some have had trouble when it comes to Article #129605 at step #3. What =
you need to do is reinstall your version of IE to work out the missing =
files issue.
Look for the IE#setup.exe files in:
C:\Progra~1\Intern~1
or
C:\Windows\Window~1

To overinstall IE6:
First, close all via CTRL+ALT+DEL except Explorer (includes your AV =
program, Scheduled Tasks, Screensaver, and going offline). =
StartRunIE6Setup.exe.
Select Minimal - Custom, select all the parts you use (but not any you =
didn=E2=80=99t originally download) and overinstall. Should take about 2 =
minutes.
Reboot...the computer.
