There are 2 separate critical updates that caused the TShoot Wizards to =
stop working. For more info and ways to use the wizards, see:
http://mvps.org/PracticallyNerded/Wi...98_Tshootr.htm

1st occurrence:
If you do not already have "Show All Files" checked in folder options, =
you need to do that first.=20
To show all files, open My Computer, click on View Folder Options =
View tab. Under the heading Hidden Files place a check next to Show All =
Files, Apply/Ok out.=20
Now find the Tshoot.inf file which should be in c:\windows\inf, right =
click on it and select Install from the popup list. Have your Win cd on =
hand.

Second occurrence, only has workarounds to use the Tshoot Wizards:
This is because the latest critical update (Q824145) places a kill bit =
on the ActiveX control tshoot.ocx. What is not recommended is removing =
the update or the kill bit altogether as this will open up the =
vulnerabilities the update fixes, which is more than killing tshoot.ocx. =
MS-MVP George (Bindar Dundat) has created a fix that will open the =
tshooter and remove the kill bit. Once you close the tshooter it =
replaces the kill bit.

Dear Mr. Brian,

Many thanks for your prompt response to my request for a
solution to my problem.

As the first exercise suggested by you did not help, I
downloaded T.SHOOT.EXE. which has solved my problem thus
enabling me to access the troubleshooter pages.

With regards and best wishes,

Sincerely yours,

Vaidyanathan

I fail to understand your comment about no support. What exactly is wrong
and what advice has run you in circles? And, tell me where you can receive
support for free?

If you mean the troubleshooter is blank:

Did you recently install a security update?

If so, get the TS work around fix at:
http://mvps.org/PracticallyNerded/SoftFixes.htm

If not, do a find on your hard drive for: tshoot.inf If it is not found,
open Explorer and on the toolbar click, View, Folder Options and View tab.
Mark the box, Show all files. Do the find again. When found, right click
the file and select install.
