Default FLAWED Windows Explorer

Did a fresh re-install of Win98SE. Installed necessary
drivers, utilities, internet applications at the same
time while downloading security updates from
WindowsUpdate.

For those apps that need a reboot right after
instalation, I complied.

Finally when I clicked on Windows Explorer, I could not
use the 'detail' options on viewing files on the right
side. Directories can only be seen on the left side.
Files on the right are not shown.

The view option on Win98 Windows Explorer has 4 option
views. They are [tiles, icons, list and 'details']

Someone pls help me. I installed everything only to find
out that Windows Explorer is malfunctioning on its
detailed option view. Hard to navigate through files and
directories.

With Explorer open, in Details view, click into the right-hand pane, then
hold down let Ctrl key and press + (plus) key on numeric pad.

Problem is, your columns are completely closed (or the first one is
extremely wide). Using Ctrl+(Plus) resets columns to default widths. (This
works in almost all standard Windows apps where columns are involved.)
