Default correction on windows me

After installing the latest XP updates, when I open any
microsoft software product, windows now tries to install
Microsoft Publisher 2002. I have to click 'cancel' three
times. Is anyone else having this problem and/or do I have
to pay Microsoft $$$ to find out if their update
is bug-gy?

Whats that got to do with ME? Why not modify the installation options for
the Suite to not install Publisher on first use? Add/Remove Programs, modify
Office installation.
