a program i do not recognize
Interesting. I wonder why Outlook Express thinks you are called "test" and
creating an address book text.wab instead of Roland.wab. BTW the name of the current address book and its location are the stored as the default data at the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name I've just checked a virgin clean install Win Me. Never been connected to the net or IE or OE ever started. No WAB. Opened OE, went through the how do you connect to the net wizard, didn't bother to create a mail account or anything. Closed OE and I now have an address book "Mike Maltby.wab". -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP heirloom wrote: Nope, never logged on as "test"....in fact, I bypass logon, always have...the Windows folder contains only one .pwl file and that is "Roland.pwl" |

Followed that key in Regedit and it does, in fact, have \test.wab at the
end of the value. No biggie......I don't mind being called 'test.' I could edit it to the proper name, but, don't see where it would make a lot of difference......just curious how it ever got to be "test."??? Thanks, Mike.
