Win 98 System fonts problem

Hello all ,
i have problem on the win98 system fonts.
i am using chinese win98, i don't know why it can't show normal system fonts
recently, it just can show some strange words. just like the upper arrow and
the lower arrow of the scroll bar will change to a number , e.g upper
arrow - '5' instead of 'upper triangle'

How can i fix it ??

If the Marlett.ttf file is damaged or missing, numbers or garbled
characters appear in place of controls.

If you need to replace the Marlett.ttf file, extract it to the
Windows\Fonts folder. Set the file's Hidden and System attributes.
(Cabinet = win95_05.cab original Win95 or win95_cab_07 OSR2)
