If you want to download the updates for Windows 98 in executable-file form
from a single page, visit -

http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/d.../corporate.asp

Then you can burn the files to a CD.

Default Updates

It is said they will be there a while. STILL, take them while you can
from the Catalog, as suspiciously I do not se Win95 stuff in the
list...!...

There's a mess of regular criticals, both at the corporate site
http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/d.../corporate.asp

& at...
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp
...., which also can be got by...
(1) "START button, Windows Update".
(2) Click "Personalize..." in left pane & then check "Display the
link..." in right pane.
(3) Click "Windows Update Catalog" in left pane, which is now under "See
Also". (Perhaps you need to leave & re-enter the site to see it.)
(4) Click "Find Updates..." in right pane.
(5) Select OS in window & click "Search".
(6) Select "Critical Updates...", & be patient for them to show up in
the bottom window. Maybe play with the little SortBy box.

You must decide which apply to your computer, when you take them that
way. And the literature may not be perfectly clear about it. Perhaps, if
you've done it once letting the site decide, you may now...

"START, Find, F/F, 'Windows Update.log'". (Use double quotes around that
name.) Click it for a possible clue inside. Otherwise...

Here is all that-- first Compaq-- then Windows Update has
deemed appropriate for this Win98SE...

Say hello to your future WinUp site look alike?
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/
I suspect 98's WinUP to be a similar site due to the pre-existance of
