Won't remember user name
Help,
I can't seem to get the Windows logon to remember me, (user name). If I then 'logoff', I am then properly logged on with my correct user name. -Dennis -- Dennis Kessler http://www.denniskessler.com/acupuncture |

Once you are logged on, find all the *.pwl files and delete them (assumes
you are the only user). Reboot and when the logon screen appears, enter a user name and password. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "dk_" wrote in message ... Ron,
Thanks for the input. The solution was to delete the registry entry: 'AutoLogon'. Nothing else worked. This was sorted out in a later thread: 'Start Menu Log Off there is no user name'. -Dennis -- Dennis Kessler http://www.denniskessler.com/acupuncture ------------------------------ In article , "Ron Badour" wrote: Once you are logged on, find all the *.pwl files and delete them (assumes you are the only user). Hi Dennis,
If I would have had the full details on your problem, I would have referred you to a blurb that I wrote in the late 90s that is posted on my web site: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/dun.html -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "dk_" wrote in message ... Good article. Yep, the answer is in your article regarding AutoLogon and
deleting the Registry entry. I think that I actually did look at you site for the answer, but again, I didn't look up the problem correctly. The trick is to ask my question properly. That's why I finally posted my question again, with a differnt description. Thanks. -Dennis -- Dennis Kessler http://www.denniskessler.com/acupuncture -------------------------------------- In article , "Ron Badour" wrote: Hi Dennis, If I would have had the full details on your problem, I would have referred you to a blurb that I wrote in the late 90s that is posted on my web site: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/dun.html -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "dk_" wrote in message ...
