The driver you need to update is the driver for your video display adapter.
If you can't find the CD that was supplied with your adapter then you need to download the latest drivers from the www site of the video display adapter manufacturer. The make and model of the video display adapter is usually displayed on-screen immediately after power-on, before the memory test starts. Otherwise, you can find it by looking at the card. The message about the best one being installed only refers to the drivers that Windows knows about. If you haven't downloaded the proper driver from the manufacturer's www site then Windows doesn't know that a better one is available. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "flower64" wrote in message ... You have the Hardware Wizard looking in the wrong place for the drivers, you
need to point it to the Driver CD. However you may not need to use the wizard. Put the disk in the drive and see if it autoruns where you can then select which drivers to install. From what I see that's on the CD there are 2 different video driver folders, the Rage folder and the Nvidia folder. Open each folder to see if there is a setup file to install the drivers from. If the disk does not autorun, you can always look at the contents from within Explorer to see if any setup files are on it to run. If you have no luck with installing them in any matter mentioned above with the CD in drive: Right click MyComputer, click Properties Device manager tab Click the + next to Video/Display adapter Double click the listed device to open the properties Click the Driver tab Update driver button Next button Search for a better driver Next button Uncheck all except Specify a location Click the Browse button and navigate to the folder/s files on the CD to select them to search in Click next after selecting and follow the rest of the steps When finished reboot if asked -- Brian A. Then you would be able to insert the CD, direct add hardware wizard to search for drivers on the CD and select the device from a list. |

Glad to hear it. What I suggest now is checking the manufacturers site for the
latest updated drivers to download and install per their instructions. -- Brian A.
