I don't think they even have Win98 CDs any longer. Your best bet may be looking for
a reasonably-priced copy online, such as at eBay.

If this CD is legally yours. I don't think anything would come of it if you
found someone with a Win98SE cd and make a copy of it. You should have done
that in the first place. It's called a backup. Or in the real sence the
original CD is your backup.
I know some liberal will jump all over me for telling you to copy one from
someone elses CD.

A liberal probably would not care and while a conservative might, it will
not be this conservative :-)

I believe it would be OK to copy a CD if it is the exact type of CD that was
broken. If OP had an OEM version and copied a retail version, I think this
would be illegal. There could also be problems if the CD being copied is an
OEM version that had been tailored for a specific PC and it is not the same
PC that OP has.

Only if it carries the same part number.

They'd be out of order. Read the admonition on the disk.

It does NOT say "Do not copy this disk".

Not sure why you think a "liberal" would jump all over you. By definition, a
liberal thinker would be more open to loose interpretation of a legal agreement,
whereas a conservative would support a strict interpretation....just as in the US
with regards to the interpretation of the Constitution.

If you are going to make a copy to replace the backup you never made of your own
original, make sure it is the exact same version on Win98SE....not a modified
version produced for an OEM.
