Default Interesting Notepad Quirk

I found an incredibly interesting quirk inside of
Microsoft Windows' Notepad. Apparently, you can open up
the source code to a file (.js, .cpp, .html, etc.) that is
stored on the Internet. To do this, you must do the
following:

1.) Open up Notepad
2.) Go to File-Open
3.) Where it says "File Name," type, in quotes, the web
address of the file that you wish to view.
4.) Press ENTER/RETURN and the source code will be
displayed.

Have fun with this, as it can be quite useful.

That would be the same as

view-source:http://www.tvguide.com/listings/

Although that method would use your default HTML/Text editor.

BTW, I tried your method, it doesn't work.

I think that this is the same as you open the document
with the browser. You can open notepad, enter between quo-
tes an adress to be downloaded and save the file.
The file is stored in C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Fi-
les - Notepad doesn't know that is opening a file that is
at Internet. I gave this result when trying to open an
..url file (internet shortcut). When any application opens
an .url file, the application opens the file to which the
shortcut is pointing. If you try that with ASP pages, the
code opened by notepad is the processed .asp page, in the
html format.
