Strange Master Volume Action
Within the past month or two I have experienced some strange
happenings related to Master Volume. I will be listening to music (source being hard drive or web sites) and the volume might be too loud at the beginning of a tune. I left click on the Sys Tray speaker icon to get to the volume control. When I try to lower the volume, by left clicking on the slider to drag it down, the slider/volume jumps up everytime I left click it. I am unable to grab the slider with a left click to drag it down until I mute the sound. Have any of you run into this? Sometimes when the sound starts off too loud I have muted then "right clicked" the speaker icon to Open Volume Controls and found the Wave Volume maxed out. What can cause this to happen? Hope my explanation is coherent enough for you to help. Thank you. |

Strange Master Volume Action
Hey Job,
If the ol' memory serves me correctly, I had that on the Me box. On mine, IIRC, there was another sound program that was actually in control and changes had to be made from there. Changes to the Master Volume panel, as you described, would simply jump back to where they were. See if you have some other sound program with controls. Strange Master Volume Action
Hi Heirloom,
My apology for being so late getting back to you and here's hoping the new year is treating you well. In case the mutterings of my original post were unclear, my glitch only happens occasionally and I haven't been able to pinpoint any set of conditions that are in place when the glitch occurs. As to: snip Changes to the Master Volume panel,......... , would simply jump back to where they were.snip The changes stay where I set them once I mute the sound and am able to grab the slider with a left click to drag it down. As to: snipSee if you have some other sound program with controls.snip 'Loom, the only others with control that I can find/think of are my players such as Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, etc. Neither of them appear to be causing the glitch. Thanks for your response. Job asks, "Alright, who stole our Winter weather?" "Heirloom" wrote in message ... Hey Job, If the ol' memory serves me correctly, I had that on the Me box.
