98 boot up problems
When I boot up my computer. I get errors that
say "explorer has performed and illegal operation","sbserv has performed and illegal operation",error starting program "the rundll.32.eve file is linked to missing export shell32.dll:122","the c:\windows\system\shell32.dll file appears to be corrupt", "the symneti.dll file is linked to a missing export shell32.dll:shellexecuteexa", and an "mstask error" All of these errors come up and I can't do any thing else. Just a background picture comes up and that's it. |

Just enter Scandisk, when it's finished take the option to run a surface scan. Let us know. Regards, Bill Watt Computer Help and Information http://home.epix.net/~bwatt/ |

Better update defs & run a virus scan. You may need to do so from DOS...
............Quote.................... 1) Formal av scan for traditional malware (worms, viruses, trojans) - see http://cquirke.mvps.org/9x/virtest.htm - can download DOS-based av from: - www.f-prot.com (free, updatable) - www.sophos.com (free for evaluation, ?no free updates) - www.nod32.com (free for evaluation, ?no free updates) - ensure the antivirus scanner you use is up to date - don't rely on Windows- or online-based av scanners for this 2) Informal utilities for commercial malware (spyware, adware etc.) - Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de (free, updatable) - Spybot 1.3 from where Google leads you (free, updatable) - CoolWebSearch Shredder as per Google (free, get new copy) - ensure these tools are up to date ............End of quote.........
