Why do I often have trouble closing my computer down with
Windows 98 and what can I do about it please?

Shutdown Problems

Definitely, try... "START, Run, MSConfig, Advanced button". Check
"Disable fast shutdown", if there. The item won't be there, if you have
downloaded a certain patch from Windows Update.
