The post I posted last night (in reply to my own) is not visible here.
This is really weird,, like, doo do doo do.... twilight.

Went to google again just now, everything looks fine, (except for
dwindling posts, something I never believed would ever happen.).

I wont write anything more about this, because it may just come good,
stranger things have happened; besides, everyone else is reading posts,
so must be a problem at my end.

Thanks again for all the info on the 'S' switch,, never knew so much
was involved.

Microsoft Communities is Close down the
microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.mspx

Q: How will I know if a newsgroup that I am active in is closing?

A: Microsoft will post notice in impacted newsgroups well in advance of the
close date in order to give newsgroup participants ample notice. Newsgroup
users will be directed to the equivalent forum for further participation in
Microsoft's online communities.

You are welcome. My posts still are getting here in minutes. I would
seek to cure you -- but circumstances are against it!

Eddie think of the Windows newsgroups as being on life-support and if even
this one Windows 98 General newsgroup survives or stays for a long while then
I will be very happy.

That's a red mark on Redmund to kill off XP so soon after so many 98-ers
perished of XP-irradiation after switching over to it! But I guess it
still has a functionality advantage of some sort & still will be
considered at my next hard drive crash, if there are improvements by
then in radiation suits.
