Upgrading to IE6 with SP1
Hi Frank
I had the same problem. Then I tried this: Down load IE6 SP1 to your desktop. Then before installing I had closed all running programs except EXPLORER & SYSTRAY. (Control/ALT/Delete to close all other programs. I had no problems installing and it works fine. Go to Mirosoft again and get it from there if you can, if not try ZDNET. jO |

What's the EXACT error message?
Are you running Norton software? Try installing in Safe Mode -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2004, Win9x) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's or http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/f.../Mar27pmvp.asp "Frank" wrote in message ... Upgrading to IE6 with SP1
Hello Jo,
Thanks for that info but it didn,t do the trick. Every time the last message is: " Installing advanced authoring" and then it stops and displays the window to close all running programs etc. I did this several times and even went to ZDNET but to no avail. If I remember right you helped once before when I had trouble in running Scandisk and Defrag. That went ok. What now?? Is it important to have that Upgrade. I have Outlook Express 6 and the Browser is 5.5. Regards Frank -----Original Message----- Hi Frank I had the same problem. Then I tried this: Down load IE6 SP1 to your desktop.
