Default streaming video app for windows 98se

I have this old PC that runs windows 98SE just fine - however, I need
to find an application that will play streaming video from the
internet. I have mediaplayer 6.4, but, it doesn't allow me to input a
URL, and when I installed media player 9, it crashed so badly that I
had to not only re-install windows, but I had to reformat the hard
drive also.

So here I am, I have a url that is streaming video, and I need to
connect to it and view the video stream - which app would be best for
me?

Thanks, Littleberry

Add more memory (RAM) to the system. Bring it up to 256 mb at least.

What CPU does it have?

PC #1) via c3 1.0 ghz; 512 ram;

PC #2) P4 2.4 ghz; 512 ram;

On both systems, Mplayer9 worked ok at first, but, then, started
giving me the bluescreen (persistenly) on windoes boot startup and
finally wouldn't get past that. I re-installed windows 98se on both
systems, but still got bluescreen - had to reformat the C drive on
both, and fell back to the standard mplayer 6.4 that comes with
windows 98se.

I need a "URL"-type video streamer that works on windows 98se - the
forums have plenty of other windows 98se users that fell prey to
mplayer 9's destruction - have you gotten mplayer 9 to work on 98se?
What is your secret?
