Win2000 & 98SE Loading Problems
Hi All,
I had Win98SE installed on my PC and have just recently moved house. When I plugged in my pc again everything seemed to work fine until the Win98 splash screen loaded. The computer just remained stuck on the splash screen and could not get past it. I could still get onto safe mode and dos mode fine. I decided to reformat my HD and install Win 2000. However the same problem still occurs, when Win 2000 loads it goes onto a blank screen and cannot get past this. However, I can get onto Safe mode and run the OS in VGA mode. I am very confused by this as the computer worked fine before I moved it and it works fine in Safe & VGA modes. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I think it could be a graphics or sound card problem but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Many thanks Ed Keen |

Win2000 & 98SE Loading Problems
Thanks Brian,
I have checked all of the connections and everything seems fine. I have reformated my HD and installed Win 2000 straight from scratch but it still goes to the blank screen when its loading. Do you have any other ideas as to what it might be? Many thanks again Ed -----Original Message----- The first steps to take for this issue after moving is to open the case and check all cables, connectors, wires, adapters/cards, etc to make sure all is seated/connected properly. -- Brian A.
