Go to the Dell web site and download and install the correct display adapter
driver for your laptop.

Some laptops force the screen display to match the LCD pixels, so if you
select say 640x480 when your physical display supports 600x600 then only a
portion of the display in the centre is used. After you have checked that
the correct DELL drivers are installed, right-click a blank part of the
desktop and choose Properties / Settings and change the screen area by
moving the slider one step to the right. If this works, but you prefer the
lower display, look for a setting that controls something like 'one-to-one
pixel mapping' and turn it off - this allows different screen area settings
to use the full display area. However, their may be some loss of quality.

Hi Paul,

You can also go to the Dell support site, enter the service tag
number and get the latest drivers for the system. You don't even
have to be the original owner.
