Setup hangs while copying files
On numerous attempts, I've been unable to complete a clean installation of
Windows Me. I'm using Partition Magic by PowerQuest, and DOS is installed on the first 2Gb primary partition (currently hidden by Partition Magic). I'm trying to install Windows Me on the second 2Gb partition, which Partition Magic has set as Active. For some reason, I keep getting a "Generic Installer Error". An error screen pops up that reads "Message SU99402" and "Invalid GenInstall INF File (0x192)". This error occurs at different times during the installation when program files are being copied to the hard disk. I've been unable to find any mention of this error in the Knowledge Base. What is the problem? Any ideas as to how I might resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated! Frustrated, -Robert
