Strange behaviour
Anyone got an explanation for this? Last weekend windows explorer
started hanging any time I right-clicked a file in a particular directory. The machine is 6 years old so I figured maybe the HD is having problems, so I ran scandisk using the "thorough" option. Now those files are fine, and the entire machine seems to be running noticeably faster. What happened? -- To reply by email remove "_nospam" |

Win98 locks at least once a day and I all I can do to recover is press the reset button. When it reboots it runs scandisk for me. :-( -- To reply by email remove "_nospam" |

do you scan for malware also? At least once a week. Though I have to say that since installing teatimer (part of the new SpyBot S&D) I haven't had a single piece of malware install itself and it's been about 3 months now. I used to find something new installed every other day. -- To reply by email remove "_nospam" |

Take Out the Trash (#4) http://aumha.org/a/health.htm Doesn't the "Disk Cleanup" program do all this automatically? It was one of the pleasant surprises I remember finding when I first upgraded to W98. -- To reply by email remove "_nospam" |

Delete Temporary Internet Files using Disk Cleanup then do so using IE
ToolsInternet OptionsGeneral (accepting the option to delete all offline content). I think you'll be surprised. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (Shell, IE/OE) & Security Chuck wrote: PA Bear wrote: Take Out the Trash (#4) http://aumha.org/a/health.htm Doesn't the "Disk Cleanup" program do all this automatically?
