VGA Display Problem in DOS and Safe Mode
In a DOS screen or in Safe Mode the display is wider across the middle of
the monitor and then is squeezed thin at both ends. The characters in the middle of the screen look like they're in a larger, wider font while the characters at the sides, as I described, are smaller and squeezed thin. The display in windows mode using my ATI video driver is fine which means my monitor is adjusted correctly. I've had this problem for awhile now and haven't yet found the solution. Do I need to install the original vga driver off the Win98 SE cd? If so, which ..cab folder would I find it? -- a( : [|]=( DaffyDŽ |

VGA Display Problem in DOS and Safe Mode
The actual problem is that the center display is so wide-spread across the
screen that both sides are pushed out of the left and right edges of the screen. I need to find a way to push or compress the display back together where everything is shown on the screen. Will re-installing the super vga driver accomplish this? "DaffyDŽ" wrote in message ... VGA Display Problem in DOS and Safe Mode
Go to the ATI web site and download and install the very latest drivers for
your display adapter. Often this will fix problems that the display has between Windows and DOS or MS-DOS mode. PattyL "DaffyDŽ" wrote in message ... VGA Display Problem in DOS and Safe Mode
If you have a digital monitor then it's likely that the monitor settings are
unique to each display mode. Adjust the monitor while in DOS and save the settings. They should then be remembered each time the monitor switches to whatever mode DOS uses. The image problem you have described is not related to drivers. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "DaffyDŽ" wrote in message ...
