Default Win98SE - Rbxxx.Cab Filess

Win98SE not creating RBXXX.CAB files automatically
at startup.
Any help/advice be appreciated?

Run MSCONFIG. Click the Startup tab

Is the ScanRegistry box checked?
It needs to be to create the RB*.CAB files.

If it is, then check the dates on any current RB*.CAB files.
If they have somehow been future-dated,
that will prevent the creation of RB*.CAB files
until those dates have passed.

Also, do a Google search for the term ScanRegistry.

Make sure that your PC is not infected
by a trojan of the same name.
