Start up Disk problem
After failure to install WinXP, I wanted to revert back to Winme. I was able
to boot the computer by startup disk. there are the options of HELP, Start computer with CD-ROM support or without CD ROM support. The computer fails to start with CD ROM support thus I cannot install Winme. I have formatted and reformatted the HD back to FAT32 and even can boot the computer by Winme CD, but again, it does not start the computer with CD-ROM support. Please guide and help, thanks, -- Dr ASH, UK |

What is the error that you are seeing when you try to access a CD having
booted to DOS and chosen CD-ROM support? -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP ASH wrote: After failure to install WinXP, I wanted to revert back to Winme. The DOS just does not proceed further, like it hangs up (no cursor
blinking), while the DOS proceeds normally till the end and loads all the files to show A: (when you choose "start computer without CD ROM support"). I hope I am able to explain correctly.
