Default Display size change

Anyone know why when I first turn on the monitor the display is enlarged and
stretched out horizontally? Sometimes it pops back to normal but lately it
just stays that way. I didn't change any display settings.

Hi,

After Windows loads, go to Control Panel – Display – Settings,
and adjust the “Screen area” to the desired resolution. If that
doesn't fix it please post back.

Hi Bert
Thanks for the reply. The setting is currently at 800x600 pixels. It is
stretched horizontally to the point that all I see of the start button is
the "t". When I move the slider to the right as little as possible it goes
to 1024x768 pixels which is too small.

Hi Again
I also forgot to mention that the monitor does a continuous squeak when you
first turn it on
and squeaks when the screens change while it is loading but then quits when
the desktop comes on.

try the hardware knobs/buttons on the front or rear of the monitor to refit
the image to the screen

Thanks...I just did that and it helps but the far left and right margin
icons are squeezed up but at least they are all on the screen.

You may have a monitor about to fail, if the distortions are non-linear, that
is worse around the edges than in the middle, then the screen itself may have
focusing problems

I think the distortion is all over the screen equally but only when I
changed the pixel size did it scrunch up the left and right edges. The
squeak is maybe just audio animation free-of-charge? :-)

Hi,

Using the monitor controls, look for a default setting and start form
there. By chance is this a notebook/laptop computer?

If you mean the controls on the front of the monitor, there is contrast,
bright, position (h & v, size, pincushion, trapezoid, rotation, recall,
degauss, and user mode? Desk top, not laptop. After I changed the pixels so
it would fit, when I hit recall it stretched back out again.
