user profile problem

Recently my computer was shut down incorrectly and when I
turned it back on and started it up things were alot
different. At the Windows logon screen I logged on just
like I always do---with the same name and password---only
I was assigned a different name with different settings.
I usually sign on with Candace but now I am signed on as
Candace000. Why is this? Also, all my settings were
different and some of my programs will not run due to
files being missing, moved, deleted, or corrupted. I also
cannot log back on under Candace. I see my user profile
listed on my hard drive but when I click on the user
profiles box in my control panel the new one is the only
one listed. Please help!
