Default Critical Updates

I am getting multiple copies of updates from critical updates. KB889293,
817787, 814078, does microsft use the same
numbers over and over or am I getting the same update each time?
Thanks in advance

Try here first:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

If not, then please repost in the update group. Microsoft personnel
are there to help solve update problems.
(They may be swamped, so please be patient)

Server: msnews.microsoft.com
Newsgroup: microsoft.public.windowsupdate
or try this URL
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....windowsupdate

Thanks Alan
Been to the troubleshoot webpage, nothing I could find there for help.
I did repost in the update group.

No.

It means that you have installed the updates
in the wrong sequence.

What is happening to you is that one or more updates
was reported as having been installed successfully,
but actually was not, due to the sequence error,
not to mention a monumental goof.

Consequently, when you revisit the Windows Update site,
you encounter the behaviour that you are experiencing.

I know of no reolution to your problem,
other than to use Control Panel to uninstall the updates
listed there, and then reinstall them in the correct
date-sequential order.

Did you originally install the updates via Windows Update or by picking &
choosing ones you thought you needed?
