Default Icon label colors

How do I change the background colors of the icon labels
on the desktop? I can change the font, font size, and
font color, but not the background color behind the text.
Currently, it is the same as the backgroud color (before
the wallpaper covers that up). Does anyone know what the
icon label background is called in the list on
the 'Display Appearance' tab?

Searching for clues,
mike.
