Default windows 98se startup group items problem

During start up, startup group stopped showing installed
programs. Everything else displayed ok., went to systems
configuration utility general tab and found light green
instead of black check mark next to: "load startup group
items." I reset black check mark and restarted. It still
did not load all required items. All check marks are in
place in the startup tab of the configuration utility. How
can I fix this problem?
Thank you.

| It still did not load all required items.

Name one/two it will not load. Also...
"START button, Run, MSInfo32, Software Environment, Startup Programs".
Use the Edit menu to select all, copy & then post it. This will be the
list of the items that DID load. Perhaps take that list to one of
these...

Thanks or Good Luck,
There may be humor in this post, and,
Naturally, you will not sue,
should things get worse after this,
