Turning Sound On

penned this whopper in microsoft.public.windowsme.setup I recently had my computer repaired and now the sound does not work. Is there any place to turn it on other than: start, control panel, sound? Two other places I can think of: the BIOS setup program, enable on-board sound device, or installing the sound drivers. -- "Time will bring to light whatever is hidden; it will cover up and conceal what is now shining in splendor."
