Check what application you have associated with files with a pdf
extension. You can change this back to Adobe Acrobat by right clicking on
a PDF file, selecting Open With, Choose Program, browse to and select
Acrobat in the selection window and check the box to "Always use the
selected program to open this kind of file" and then click OK.

Make sure the file is properly associated with Acrobat Reader. Right
click on a .pdf file click "Open With" and select Acrobat Reader.
Select or Check the "Always use this program to open these files" box
to have Windows associate the file with Acrobat Reader.

Try reinstalling or repairing Adobe Reader. I have not used versison 5
for a while now but there might be an option to repair it in Add/Remove
Programs Control Panel applet. If there are no option to repair it,
uninstall and reinstall it.

I solved the Problem by down loading Acrobat Reader 6.01 for Me from
the Adobe Web Site and Installing It. Fixes the 5.0 Problem and and
works correctly on Double Clicks on file name xx.pdf in MyDocuments etc...

Best Wishes,
Dr. H.Mak

I'm pleased to read you've cured the problem. It seems you original
Acrobat installation was damaged in some way.
