Default Not enough memory, it says...

William,

I hadn't picked up on the reference in your original post to your having
1GB of RAM on the box as this is going to cause problems with any Win 9x
system, 98 or Me unless vcache is limited in the way mentioned by Ron as
otherwise the system is going to rapidly run out of upper memory address
space. Nevertheless if the only reason for running a 9x system is to run
certain DOS based programs I think you would find checking out VPC
(Virtual PC) as mentioned in my message posted at 20:42 BST on 1 Sept a
worthwhile exercise. You could then run Win98 or Me or DOS, etc. in a VPC
window on your XP machine.

Thank you, Ron. I've put the ME version of my software
(on its own hard drive) aside for now, since no solution
appeared after many efforts by me and especially Mike
Maltby. I have backed off to the WIN 98, where problems
with DOS-based programs are far less severe. I can't
answer you from here, and I'm going to stick with ole
reliable WIN 98 for now, but I've bookmarked this whole
thread and will get back to you in the future. Thanks again.
