Default laptops & monitor driver

Great advice, here and in the other note Gary. I suspect my problem then, is
not the 'display adapter' but the monitor ... but I may reinstall everything
as you suggest.

By the way ... I got your CDs for Windows 98, 98SE, etc. updates. They
worked wonderfully. Thanks much for sending them to me. And I very much
appreciate your wilingness to help and your (excessively in my opinion) fair
price for the update CDs. Thanks again.

The monitor in a laptop is no different, really, from stand-alones. It needs
drivers. Suggest you reinstall BOTH video and monitor drivers, in that
order.

Does anyone know if the monitor driver matters in laptops?

When we click on the 'display' icon (or function) and select
Settings-Advanced,
we have two places to select drivers.
a. Display Adapter
b. Monitor

For non-laptop computers, we use both, and both make a difference.

For laptop computers where the display is built in, does the monitor
driver
matter? Is it monitor driver bypassed?

Thanks BR
