Default Unable to boot dual boot system

And you're also lucky Ben was lucky enough to guess your actual problem.
The fact that you were messing with PM and what you were doing would have
helped others not so lucky on guessing.

Thankyou. That worked.

I've realised after that I must have set my main partition to inactive.
That will teach me for messing about with partition magic without knowing
what i'm doing.

Start fdisk, accept "Large disk support", select option 2 and make sure
that the C: partition is set to Active. If it isn't, change it, then

remove
the floppy and restart.

Hi,

I have 2 versions of Windows on my 20Gb HD. Win98SE on the first
partition
(C and Windows 2000 on the second partition (D. For some reason the
boot record of my HD has gone and I am unable to boot. I have tried
starting with the Win98 startup disk and I can see C: drive and the old
boot.ini file.

I have done FDISK /MBR and SYS C: to try and get my machine to boot to
Win98
but it is still freezing after bios detects my first hard disk. Does
anybody know what I can do to get my machine to boot? Should I consider
using a boot utility to replace my old boot loaders?

Thanks.
