I have WIN98SE on partition C:, WINXP on partition D:, and misc on partion
E: WINXP and WIN98SE both worked fine until I unplugged all external
cables and had more RAM added by the store that I bought the computer
from.
When I reconneted the computer WIN98SE only had 16 colors. As I tried to
add display drivers from the Intel CD that came with the computer loaded
something I shouldn't have. Now WIN98 startup hangs up when it attempts
to
start, I select Safe Mode and it starts with two WIN98 screens then
finally
gets to a cyan screen with a picket fence like pattern at the top.
Nothing
further happens. I can reset, select WINXP and it works fine.
I believe the chipset includes the display card equivaltent. I think that
if I could load a generic display driver that I could then manage to load
the correct display driver. I am also confused about whether both the
video
card and the display need drivers.
I have WIN98 on another computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don
