Hi,
This is the first time I sent an e-mail to this newsgroup=20
so I hope I'm doing it right. I really am new to using=20
the internet. So often when I go to a web page, my=20
computer freezes and I have to manually shut it down. =20
I've been told that 99% of the time the hard disc needs=20
cleaned. Is this true and can you help me in "easy" step=20
by step instructions? Thanks.

Hi Ann!
A I leave my computer on all the time, and if I leave it
A idle for a few hours, I come back and the system is
A completely frozen. The screen is black. The only way=20
that
A I can restore it is to manually turn the computer off=20
and
A then turn it back on.
Try turning down the Graphics Acceleration setting (I=20
have no idea why=20
graphics). Try setting all the way to the left to see if=20
that is the=20
problem; if appears to fix slowly increase until the=20
lockups start=20
again.
One thing I found that also seemed to fix was to have a=20
DOS=20
(command prompt) window running in the background. =20
Didn't have to be=20
active or even doing anything. =20
