Default Win-98 virtual access to win-7 host drive (was: Anti-virus for ME)

Wow, you really are angry about ME! ;-)

I guess I should lighten up a little. If a Win-ME CD is all you have, I
guess it's what you'll end up using. I have so many MSFT CD's and
software packages and activation keys available to me, not everyone does...

What do you know about networking W98se running on MVPC-2007
on Windows 7 to the W7 Host? I have not been able to get
W98se and W7 to see each other at all using the MS Loopback
Adapter on W7. Tried all the networking W98 to W7 advise
I could find online. None of it works for me.

One of our developers has exactly that - MVPC-2007 running on Win-7 and
a win-98 virtual image. I don't use the virtual stuff. I asked him to
check on the drive access between win-98 and host, and there are
settings you will need to mess with on the host MVPC interface. I don't
know if he was able to do it - I'll ask tommorrow. I can tell you that
on the virtual win-98 he can see shared folders on a win-2k system on
the network.

I can also tell you that on two separate PC's, one running 7 and the
other win-98se, that I can access a shared folder on the 98 machine from
win-7 with no problems. I've mapped the shared drive, probably had to
specify it directly because I probably couldn't discover it on the win-7
machine just browsing the network.
