ALWAYS disable Norton/Symantec Anti-Virus autoprotection before doing any
installation, uninstall, update or repair to Internet Explorer.

Thanks, Ben.

I downloaded the fresh copy of IE6SETUP.EXE and copied it to the ailing
computer. When I attempted to execute it, I experienced the same result - it
doesn't run.

I should also mention that when booting into Windows 98 (using WINFILE.EXE),
just before bringing up the log on dialogue, it reverts back to a colored DOS
screen issued by Symantec AntiVirus Auto-Protect - "Unable to determine the
location of the configuration files.". If ENTER is pressed ("OK" in
dialogue), Windows continues to the network log in dialogue.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi -

I was reviewing this post since I'm having a similar problem. IE6Setup.Exe,
however, will not launch. If I try to run the repair function from the "RUN"
dialog, I get a dialogue saying that Internet Explorer cannot be repaired.

Any additional ideas would be appreciated.

Try downloading a fresh copy of "ie6setup.exe"
