First check what version of Java you have. Go to a
command prompt. Click
Start, Programs, DOS. In the DOS prompt type jview
and press Enter.
You should have version 3810. To close the command
prompt type exit and
press Enter.
If you do not have version 3810, you can download it he
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/javavm.html
Or you can download Sun Micro Systems flavor of Java he

Yes I did and it seems I do have this problem -- " IE
crashes after visiting a Web page with JavaT technology
based applets" which is the 1st on the list. I do not
see
an SP1 under ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS all I fine is an
Internet
Explorer Q867801 loaded. I went to MS and run the update
and it says that I have all the current updates loaded.
I
followed the 2nd set of instructions and my video
display
is True Color 32bit I am running now and have been
running.
Is there again else I did to do? Do I need to uinstall
this Java2 Runtime on my computer?

Did you look at the info on this website? You probably
have one or more of
the problems listed.

Take a look at the information on the Sun Micro
Systems
Java website. It
addresses what would have been my next round of
questions.

TKS Joe for the help but both steps did not fix the
problem. I am so dump founded and I even have
wiped
the
HD clean and started over and it is still doing it.
Any
over ideas?

Give this a try:
Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools,
System
Information. Right
Click System Information and put a shortcut to it
on
your
desktop. There
are several utilities in it that are useful.
Click the System Information shortcut, Click Tools,
then
Click Internet
Explorer Repair Tool.
Choose Repair Internet Explorer and follow the on-
screen
instructions. If
the Repair feature does not work, try the Restore
to
the
Previous
Configuration.

My IE browser keeps locking up and then restarts
my
computer. This only happens when i use my browser
on-
line.
I can use everything else including my chat
services
but
when I use IE it is locking up or freezing my
computer
and
sometimes restarts my computer. It does this when
one of
few things happen, Either I type in an address
and
click
go or a come across a BIG picture on any web site
or
I
go
to an web page with a Java (I think) script or it
is
a
huge page to load. IE, this happens almost every
time I
go
to microsofts web site to look in here. Just for
reference, it took me 4 trys to get to here and
type
this
message.
Do I have an graphics problem? My drivers are
all
loaded
correctly and there are no conflicts listed. My
system
is
Win98 2nd ED, 1150 MHZ AMD processor, Nivadia
Ti4200
video
card, 512 MBs MEM, a DELL 21" Triniton monitor
and
80
gigs
of HD space.
