Upside-Down Screen Contents

My cat lay along the lower end of my keyboard while the computer was on -
which turned the contents of the screen upside down!

Re-booting and shutting down have failed to solve the problem. I also tried
systems restore but that didn't work either, although I'm not sure if I was
using it correctly.

All the start-up data is the right way up, but everything goes upside down
from Windows "Welcome" onwards.

Can you suggest any key combination that might fix the problem? Or anything
else? What combination of keys might the cat have pressed to cause this?

Any answers, tips or ideas would be much appreciated.

For Intel Extreme graphics the key combination is Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow to
return to normal view.

If the system is using an ATI graphics card is it possible that Hotkeys
are enabled and that these have been used to rotate the display. You
access the ATI control centre where this is configured by right clicking
on the desktop and selecting Catalyst Control Centre. You would then be
able to see the key combinations used.

I suspect that nVidia graphics might have a similar option.

Thank you, Mike. Control Alt Up-Arrow brought me back to normal. Best,

More Keys: Upside-Down Screen Contents

Dear Mike and Everyone,

Here is a full list of keys that somebody on another website sent me for
screen orientation problems, in case it's ever useful.

"Ctrl-Alt-Up - right side up

Ctrl-Alt-Right - 90 degrees

Ctrl-Alt-Down - 180 degrees

Ctrl-Alt-Left - 270 degrees

If that doesn’t work, try Ctrl-Shift-R"

I haven't tempted fate by trying any except the first, which resolved my
problem.

Best,

Claire

Thanks,

I am aware of these key combinations which is why I suggested you try
Ctrl-Alt-Up to correct your problem. Unfortunately not all graphics
drivers use the same key combinations.

Upside down video in Windows Media Player can be caused by outdated video
drivers so check your graphics card manufacturer's web site for updated
drivers.

Ref: Readme for Windows Media Player 9 Series
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...s/readme.aspx).
This also applied to other versions of WMP.

I dont think this is the problem.
Cuz now I see that it's only a certain film I cant see. I downloaded some
episodes of Heroes, and when I play them they appear upside down, but when I
watch something else it's normal. It's just these series.. Weird enough .. So
what can I do ?
